Tobacco Road
This week's featured album art belongs to Brother Jack McDuff and his second LP for the Atlantic label, Tobacco Road. This beautiful piece from 1966 was created by photographer Peter Whorf and designer Loring Eutemey. Whorf was well known for his album cover images, perhaps most notably that one Herb Alpert record. You know the one. But more on that later. Eutemey was an important but perhaps under-recognized African American designer whose work you would have seen at our last Kissa listening party on Ornette Coleman's seminal Free Jazz (or just scroll down a few posts). We're also posting Can't Get Satisfied, a track that will get your feet tappin' for sure.
