The Baltimore Kissa Society hosts listening parties for jazz enthusiasts. We gather together once a month to listen to vinyl recordings of a different jazz artist or instrument in a relaxed atmosphere.

This site also hosts our blog, which features a post on a different jazz album cover each month.

Listening parties are held in different locations each month. We enjoy bringing attention to the different galleries, coffee shops, and music venues that host us on a rotating basis. Our events are always free, and we welcome anyone who loves or is curious about jazz music and vinyl records. We are proud to be a part of the incredible jazz community of Baltimore, Maryland.  

What is a Kissa?

Kissa is the Japanese word for cafe, and we specifically take our inspiration from Japanese jazz kissas, where patrons can spend hours listening to jazz records over a cup of coffee or a cold beer.
